I’ve been home from university for around 10 weeks, working most weekends and not doing much through the week, making me lose motivation for anything based around my camera. Losing the motivation to take pictures has meant that everything has ground to a halt; I haven’t been expanding my skill set or trying out new ideas.
However this doesn’t mean that I haven’t been thinking of new ideas, the latest being making soundscapes, each with a different theme to create a series. The most annoying thing is that I have all the Capabilities to carry through this idea but the lack of motivation has meant that it hasn’t happened!
I also used this week to kick start myself into leaving the house more and taking more pictures. The beginning of the week I used the invitation of a trip to Whipsnade Zoo to turn my week into something productive, which hasn’t happened in a while! After spending one of the hottest days of the year on top the chiltern hills, I spent the following evening at Rushmere park, and then two days later exploring Ivinghoe Beacon and Coombe Hill, also part of the Chilterns. Although not every trip was successful, each one showed me how much I love to be out with my camera, each trip bringing back some of the love I have for photography.
With every new trip hopefully something new and exciting will come out of it, bringing us all new content soon!
